This policy lists the cookies this store sets, says which are necessary for the store to work and which are set only with your agreement, and explains how to change your choice. It forms part of our Privacy and POPIA Policy.
1. What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep. It lets the site recognise your browser on the next page you open, which is how a basket survives from one page to the next. Some cookies are removed when you close the browser, others stay for a set period.
2. What we use them for
2.1 We use cookies for three purposes: to make the store work, to count how it is used, and, only if you agree, to see whether our advertisements lead to an order. We do not sell information about you and we do not allow anyone to use cookies on this store to build an advertising profile of you for their own use.
2.2 Strictly necessary cookies are set on every visit and cannot be switched off, because without them you cannot sign in, keep a basket or check out. Measurement and advertising cookies are set only if you agree to them in the cookie notice.
3. The cookies this store sets
Strictly necessary
- PrestaShop-…, set by this store: keeps your session, your basket and your sign-in between pages. Kept for 8 hours.
- __cf_bm, set by Cloudflare: tells automated traffic from real visitors, which protects the store from scraping and attack. Kept for 30 minutes.
- cf_clearance, set by Cloudflare: records that a security check has been passed, so you are not challenged repeatedly. Kept for up to 1 year.
Measurement (only with your agreement)
- _ga and _ga_G6SVB4WQGN, set by Google Analytics 4: count visits and pages so we can see which parts of the store are used. Kept for up to 13 months.
- Ahrefs Web Analytics: counts visits and pages for the same purpose, and runs only once you agree to measurement.
Advertising (only with your agreement)
- _gcl_au, set by Google Ads: records that a visit came from one of our advertisements, so that we can see whether it led to an order. Kept for up to 90 days.
3.1 This list is checked at each revision of this policy. If we add a cookie, the list is updated before the cookie is set.
4. Your choice
4.1 When you first visit the store you are asked whether you agree to measurement and to advertising cookies, separately. Nothing in either group is set until you say yes.
4.2 You can change your answer at any time through the "Cookie settings" link at the foot of every page. Withdrawing is as easy as giving consent. Withdrawing does not affect anything recorded before you withdrew, and it does not affect your ability to shop.
4.3 Strictly necessary cookies are not covered by that choice, because the store cannot function without them and they do nothing else.
5. Managing cookies in your browser
5.1 Every browser lets you see the cookies a site has set, delete them and refuse new ones. The setting is usually under Privacy or Site settings.
5.2 Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop the basket and checkout from working. That is a consequence of blocking them, not a penalty we apply.
6. Google Analytics and Google Ads
6.1 Google Analytics 4 records the pages you viewed, roughly where in the world you are, and the type of device and browser. Your IP address is shortened before it is stored, so the record cannot be traced back to a single connection.
6.2 Google processes this information outside South Africa. Clause 5 of our Privacy and POPIA Policy sets out the basis on which we permit that.
6.3 We do not link analytics or advertising records to your account, your name or your order history.
7. Cookies set by someone else
7.1 Pages that embed content from another site, such as a video, may allow that site to set its own cookies. We do not control those and their own policies apply.
7.2 Our payment providers set cookies on their own pages during checkout, to secure the payment. Those are set by them, on their pages, not by this store.

8.2 We may change this policy. A change applies from the date it is published. If we add a cookie group, we ask for your consent again before setting anything in it.
