Pure Vawter was formed from our founder, Nakhokonke Mngadi’s experiences growing up in poverty without access to clean water. As a child raised by a single parent with five siblings, Nakhokonke was not privileged enough to have fundamental human rights and necessities. It was unbearable to see his mother cry because she did not have the means to support them despite her goodwill. He learnt in his childhood what poverty looks like and tastes like. Living in a township and not having access to safe, drinkable water was a challenge, with the added nightmare of the family suffering from illnesses caused by drinking unsafe water.
The community in which Nakhokonke grew up was affected by different diseases due to unsafe drinkable water, and becoming an entrepreneur, he has made it a goal to make sure no human being, especially from rural areas, experiences what he went through.
